SAL Luau

Come and join us on Sunday April 26th for free food and fun! We will also be showing a movie on the big screen in SAL101.

THE MYTH and LEGEND of the SAL LUAU

For many years, students enrolled in CSCI 402 would be lured on the final night of their doom from the murky depths of the computer lab to find themselves in the midst of a tropical paradise just next door, shocked but deliriously happy to see SAL 101 overbrimming with free pizza and snacks (nachos, of course) to feed their deprived souls. To be certain that no part of the brain engaged itself during the ritualistic celebration, a numbing display of wizardry was displayed throughout the night on a gargantuan screen, calling itself by cryptic names like Iron Man.

For many moons, the tradition laid dormant. And then the TIKI-WIKI God declared that the luau RISE AGAIN! No more, he cried, will CS students go un-lei'd for entire semesters at a time!

On the eve of this coming Day-Of-The-Sun, come and bear witness again to the miracle of metamorphosis, of souls and of SALs. All those who at one point have endured the curse of the 4-0-2 or will be faced with the monster are invited.

Brought to you by Upsilon Pi Epsilon, the bearers of tradition.

Thank You Dr. Crowley

As another semester draws to a close and many of us leave the university, we would like to take a moment to thank a very special member of the USC computer science department.

As faculty advisor for both UPE and ACM, Dr. Michael Crowley has been a driving force in the development of community amongst USC's computer science students. Without his help, UPE could not have become the organization it is today. Under his watchful leadership, there is no doubt that not just UPE, but the entire computer science department, will continue to grow and achieve new success.

In recognition of all the time and effort he has devoted to our chapter, and on behalf of the executive board of USC's chapter of Upsilon Pi Epsilon, please join us in extending our sincerest gratitude to Dr. Michael Crowley.
